swreathpinkbow.gif (10448 bytes) MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL LIONS, FRIENDS, AND FAMILY!!!!

swreathpinkbow.gif (10448 bytes)

I would like to wish all Lions a very Merry Christmas!  Thank you for being such a great guild.   I hope Santa is very good to each and every one of you!

I think it is important to try and really keep some of that Christmas spirit all year round.  I think Lions do a good job of that most of the time but I know for myself it is something I need to work a bit harder at.  Its easy in a game like EQ to get irritated or angry at others because its easier to misconstrue things and unfortunately for some they don't use the same manners they would out of the game.  But try to take things with a smile and give people that extra chance or benefit of the doubt.

I would also like to thank the troops in Iraq for all they are doing.  A double thanks really at this time of year when many are forced to be away from their families at a time when that not being there hurts the most.  I wish the very very best to those who put their very life on the line for others anywhere in the world whether close to home or in distant lands.

There is a lot of pain and strife throughout what we call RL and worldpeace will not come easy.  But maybe if we all take a further step towards understanding, even if a small one, we can get there one day.

God bless.

ThanksGivingPumpkin.gif (10175 bytes) I would like to wish all the Lions of the Heart a very Happy Thanksgiving.   Personally I am thankful for all the friends I have gotten to know in Everquest as well as the new friends who have recently joined us from Praetors of the Lights. It was not so much Praetors merging into Lions as two parts of a bigger family coming together to unite their strength and caring as one.

I also wish to say that my prayers go out for all those trying to bring peace in Iraq.  The fight to defend freedom doesn't only occur in a "state of war"; it occurs any time that people of conviction put their life's on the line defending freedom.  Some may disagree with what was done, some may speak of "vested interests" but what is happening isn't the occupation of a land but the birth of a nation and truly something special.  I give thanks that we are in a world where people will fight for the freedom of others and not just themselves.  I give thanks to those who put themselves on the frontline so that we at home can enjoy that same freedom.  God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving.

We have had several things happen in the last few weeks.  A few weeks ago both Augustaes and Kamdn were able to defeat Ragefire in back to back fights and obtain their cleric epics.   Kamela just recently led a raid in defeating the fearsome dragon yet again for another cleric epic.   Our friends in Praetors of the Light have made the decision to join us as Lions.  They were always Lions in their hearts and now they are Lions in name.

The Lions journeyed deep into The Hole led by the intrepid Ranger Arthour to hand in the Shiny Tin Bowl for the turn in to Jaeil the Wrietched in order toobtain his much needed epic piece.  The raid went very well and was a good example of a member leading us on the raid for their epic. :).  Good work all who came along!   Special thanks to Brickhaus who provided the Shiny Tin Bowl.

A raid was done this evening in Kithicor to get Gnip his rogue epic drop.   The raid went very well even if the two top clerics were a bit worse for wear :)   Congratulations to Gnip.

Baroness Toszme completed her 8th Shawl Quest.  We had many Lions show up and in addition a few friends of the Baroness.  (btw she makes me call her The Baroness, you now how these nouveau nobility are). Yes the 8th Shawl is for real this time and not like the other time where she somehow planted a subliminal message in my mind making me think she had done it.  I was there this time and I saw it for myself.   Or at least I think I did.........  Things that make you go hmmm....

Early Sunday morning  Xerusian completed a marathon session to finish his epic and recieve both Beastlord claws! Xerusian Epic.bmp (693090 bytes)

Mid Sunday, Thorns led a raid to take down the General in Kithicor, who was courteous enough to drop a second (rare bonus) epic piece. With that, Thorns was able to run to our rogue friend Stanos, in High Pass Hold and Thorn received his Ragebringer epic reward !

Sunday evening, a large group of Lions got together and helped Firetan take down Captain Rottgrim in OT so he could loot the next piece ("tears") toward Firetan's Magician epic quest.

Sunday night, the Lions (on the second attempt) took down Ixiblat Fir, so Aquadia (alt of Shinooka) could loot the next piece ("sceptre") toward her cleric epic quest. For a complete rundown of this raid, see a separate post.

Saturday night saw a very successful Plane of Hate raid with 21 Lions in attendance. It was a low stress raid, with no epic mobs or intentional targets. Rather, we used the opportunity to practice raiding and crawling through a hard zone, traveling confidently through this dangerous city. A few class-specific armor items dropped and several loose pieces for the progressive gem quests. We raided for about two hours then called it an evening. After all this, we only had one death, when a fickle mob saw through Dane's FD.

I can once again edit the website.

knights_army.gif (21991 bytes) Saturday started out with a guild raid to Seblis to introduce the zone to members who had not hunted there yet but turned into a day of Epic Raids.  We started with getting Augustaes his epic piece in Burning Woods.  The Flame of the Fire Elemental was Extinguished!!!  We proceeded on to Grimling Forest and after many fights were able to obtain Kzaan's beast epic piece.  From there we headed to Lavastorm and obtained an item for Dane's monk epic. Then after I was offline with family events three more epic raids were carried out I understand.  Truly a productive day for the Lions of the Heart.

DOES LADY TOSZME COMPLETES 8TH SHAWL QUEST! - Apparently when I thought I was talking to Toszme in tells I was speaking to The Psychic Hotline.   Or the Lady Toszme was fibbing to me and needs to be soundly spanked.  I vote for the spanking personally.  The report of Lady Toszme completing theh Shawl Quest it seems was premature ;)

LION FRIEND GETS EPIC! Lion Friend Trewfelagh, of Legends of Westwood, completed his epic last today!  A hardy congratulations to Trewfelagh. His epic weapon is well deserved by him.

"Last night, he led a raid to CoM and took down his final epic mob quite handily. The Lions were there to help, of course, and represented in this success with Ethyre, Kareja and Squim." Ethyre - Lions of the Heart Officer

We had our monthly guild meeting a week late but we had it.  There were a lot of things discussed and we will hopefully have a transcript scribed and ready for reading soon. Seek out the Inside the Lions Heart forum for this scroll please dear Lions.  We have seen many new members swell the ranks of the Lions as of late.   As guildleader I am quite happy with the fine new Lions who have joined us.   We most assuredly have a good group of lords and ladies indeed!

You have nothing to fear but FEAR itself.

Well we had an interesting experience after the wedding festivities had ended.  It seems that Sir Flutio had been possessed by some evil spirit and been taken away to the Plane of Fear.  A stalwart band of Lions led by Sir Corwyhn and including Sir Kamce, Lady Shinooka, Guildmaster Caellon and Prelate Augustaes sought to reunite the spirit of Sir Flutio with his body.  Alas disaster struck upon the heels of our arrival to the Portal of Fear.  Prelate Augustaes saw Sir Corwyhn charging forward into the portal and followed him (poor aug was on auto follow to Cor and ran after a lag ghost into the portal).  Unprepared the rest of the party raced into the portal.  It was a trap.  We were set upon by many vile beasts and PrelateAugustaes was summoned away even as Sir Caellon cast a spell to whisk us away to safety.  But then even worse news was yet to come; the Lady Shinooka had also been taken by the evil creatures of the Plane.

A new rescue party was organized including many Lions and some fearsome souls from Hawkestone.   Most happily all were resuced and Sir Flutio's body and soul were once again united.

c_cleric.gif (59228 bytes) An attempt was made at securing the Sceptre of Ixiblat Fer (cleric epic item) from the evil fire elemental Ixiblat Fer in Burning Woods.  Alas we were unable to meet up with Naxot Deepwater (npc would not $#$#$# spawn) and could not find the whereabouts of or fiery foe (needed hand in to Naxot to spawn fire elemental). We shall try another time most assuredly.

Many thanks to those from Last Exodus and Legends of Westwood as well as other assorted Lion Friends who came out to lend their support to this battle.

Shinooka's was completed only lastnight. Udirea had organized a last minute raid to Chardok where we practiced raid procedures and tactics a little under Udirea's guidance.  Good work on that Udirea!!!.  While we still had everyone together we headed over to iceclad and helped Shinooka finsh her quest.  We had around 18 of our higher level Lions in attendance as well as friends from several guilds such as Order of Seibwen, Council of the Phoenix, Covenant of Valor and a few I think I a missing.  Thank you to all those who  helped out and please forgive me if I any of the guilds who had members in attendance.

Saturday, March 22nd

I would like to congratulate both Sapp and Zava on the recent aquisistions of their epic weapons!!!  It took much time and work and both are to commended on this accomplishment.

Many thanks also go to Warleader Trewfelagh who as always is there to aid and organize many of our battles against the Darkness.  Who better then a Shadowknight to know the ways of the Dark?   Though his lore was learned through dark powers he strives to uphold the way of the Lions and battle the Dark!!!

Zava has the aid of the Spear of Fate in the battle against the Darkness!
Sapp gains strength to lend him aid in confronting natures abominations with the help of Nature Walkers Scimitar!

The Lions did Kael once again.   Much fun was had and a few nice items picked up.  Both Shinooka and Revvelle gained another piece to their epics today later in the day.
